Blood 2019

HSANZ Travel Grants

The Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ) provides a number of travel grants to assist members with attendance at annual scientific meetings. This year that meeting is Blood 2019 in Perth. Applicants must submit an abstract, register for the meeting and satisfy the criteria.

To be eligible all applicants must

  1. Be current, financial members of the Society (you may apply for membership when you submit your application for the award). Membership forms are available at www.hsanz.org.au. Applications must be received by the HSANZ Secretariat by the end of August 2019.
  2. submit an abstract to the Blood 2019 Meeting (apply for the travel grant online when submitting your abstract)
  3. Register for the Meeting by the close of abstract submission date (28 June 2019)
  4. Have attained their post graduate qualification in Australia or overseas (MSc, FRACP, FRCPA, PhD or overseas equivalent) within the past 5 years. Trainee members are eligible but members in positions where funding for travel is normally provided (eg hospital staff specialists) will not be considered for travel awards, and
  5. Not receive funding from other sources.
  6. be proposed and the proposer’s contact details provided.

Valued of up to AU$1000, applications will be assessed by the HSANZ Council and applicants will be advised of the outcome four weeks before the meeting. Preference will be given to those applicants who have not before received an ASM travel grant.


HSANZ Educational Grants

The aim of these grants is to support associate, trainee and full members of the Society, who have attained their post-graduate qualification in Australia or overseas (MSc, FRACP, FRCPA, PhD or overseas equivalent) within the past 5 years, to attend and present at an international meeting.

There are up to 2 grants of AU$5000 each available. All applications will be assessed by a subcommittee of the HSANZ and will be judged on the quality and originality of the work and presentation. Successful applicants will be announced on the last day of the annual meeting. Closing date: 28 June 2019. Click here for Application Guidelines.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  1. submit an abstract to the annual scientific meeting: Blood 2019 Application for the award is made via on-line abstract submission at the meeting website: Blood 2019.
  1. be financial and either full, trainee or associate members of HSANZ by the time of the Annual Scientific Meeting. You must submit a membership application to HSANZ no later than 31 August 2019.
  2. ensure only ONE abstract is nominated for consideration;
  3. Previous winners of the award are ineligible.


HSANZ Nurses Travel Grants

Travel grants will be available to HSANZ Nursing members.

To be eligible all applicants must

  1. Be current, financial members of the Society (you may apply for membership when you submit your application for the award). Membership forms are available at www.hsanz.org.au. Applications must be received by the HSANZ Secretariat by the end of August 2019.
  2. submit an abstract to the Blood 2019 Meeting (apply for the travel grant online when submitting your abstract)
  3. Register for the Meeting by the close of abstract submission date (28 June 2019)
  4. Not receive funding from other sources.
  5. be proposed and the proposer’s contact details provided.
