The THANZ Scientific Medal is awarded to a new investigator working actively in clinical or laboratory research in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis and who is a member of the Society. Applicants will be judged on the quality of their submitted abstract and an oral presentation. The award winner receives the THANZ Medal, a solid silver medallion, and a prize of A$2,000. In addition, there are two runner up awards of A$500 each.

For those entrants submitting posters, there will be an opportunity to present their work to the judging panel. The award will be judged by a panel of experts drawn from the THANZ membership. The judging and the award of prizes will take place at the Blood Meeting.
To apply for this award, complete the relevant section of the online abstract submission form on the website and submit with your abstract before the abstract submission closes.
The THANZ Council will award a prize for the best clinical and the best laboratory poster in the THANZ stream based on evaluation of the content and artwork. Judging will take place during the Meeting and the winner announced during the Meeting Awards presentations.
This grant is open to members of THANZ who are laboratory scientists and will be awarded to the author of the best abstract submitted to either the Blood Meeting or THANZ Scientific Workshop. The award of AU$3,000 will be made to assist with registration to both events, travel and accommodation.
This grant is open to members of THANZ and will be awarded to the author of the best abstract in the bleeding disorders field submitted to either the Blood Meeting or THANZ Scientific Workshop. The award of AU$2,000 will be made to assist with registration, travel and accommodation.
There are 6 THANZ travel grants valued at $1,000 each, one in memory of John Lloyd.
Applicants must be current members of the Society, must submit an abstract and register for the meeting. The THANZ Council will decide on travel grants and applicants will be informed of the outcome by the THANZ Secretariat.
